During the fair, MFU representatives promoted information about the university’s study programs, admission requirements, tuition fees, facilities, scholarship opportunities, career prospects, and exchange programs. The event also provided a platform for the delegation to meet with Indonesian alumni.

The delegation visited three Indonesian universities to establish new partnerships and explore academic cooperation areas. These institutions included Petra Christian University (PCU) in Surabaya, BINUS University (Anggrek Campus), and Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in Malang.

Partnership Agreements and Discussions

At Petra Christian University, the MFU team met with representatives from the School of Business and Management, the Food Technology Department of the Faculty of Industrial Technology, and the International Office. The PCU team was led by Mr. Vido Iskandar, Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Corporate Communication of School of Business and Management.

Both universities agreed to begin collaborative activities with staff and student exchange programs, as well as co-teaching in courses related to food technology, cosmetic sciences, tea and coffee, natural products, medicinal plants, and business.

At BINUS University, MFU representatives met with Ms. Debby Sonita Lubis, International Office Manager, and Ms. Lidya, Program and Collaboration Section Head for Asia region. The discussions focused on possibilities for cooperation including internships, student exchange programs, and international conferences.

The delegation met representatives from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, and the International Office, led by Prof. Dr. Ir.Imam Santoso, MP., Vice Rector of Academic Affairs.

MFU and UB have maintained an active Memorandum of Understanding since 2019, which has contributed to collaborative activities through student exchange programs, visiting scholar programs, joint research, and conferences, particularly with MFU’s School of Agro-Industry and School of Science.

The partnership has facilitated numerous academic exchanges and research collaborations between the two institutions over the past six years, establishing a foundation for expanded cooperation.

What’s Next

The two institutions are currently developing a joint certification program in food science and technology as the next step in their partnership. The visit opened discussions for potential collaboration between MFU’s School of Management and UB’s Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences.

Future cooperation areas include student mobility (physical and virtual), visiting scholar programs, research initiatives, and joint degree programs. These partnerships are expected to foster opportunities for students and academic staff from both countries to advance research excellence and broaden academic knowledge.

The visit provided valuable opportunities for Mae Fah Luang University to promote itself as an academic destination for Indonesian students while building new cooperation and deepening existing collaborations with partner universities.
