UEF Supports Organizing Family Violence Prevention Law Contest at Ten Lo Man High School

In a remarkable demonstration of academic collaboration, the Law Faculty of UEF University recently partnered with Ten Lo Man High School to create an innovative educational experience. Moreover, this partnership brought legal awareness directly to young minds through an interactive competition focused on Vietnam’s 2022 Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence.

UEF Law Faculty Supports Domestic Violence Prevention Contest at Ten Lo Man High School

Celebrating Vietnam Family Day (June 28th), Ten Lo Man High School organized a comprehensive legal education program on June 30th. The event centered around a contest exploring the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence alongside a specialized legal symposium titled “End Violence, Nurture Love” with collaborative support from UEF’s Law Faculty.

Distinguished Participants Shape Legal Education Initiative

The symposium and competition welcomed notable attendees from both institutions. Furthermore, Ms. Phan Thi Phuong Trang, Vice Principal of Ten Lo Man High School, and Ms. Vo Thi My Trang, Head of the Economics and Law Education Department, represented the school’s commitment to practical legal education.

UEF contributed expertise through Master Vu Anh Sao, Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty, and Master Nguyen Nam Trung, Assistant to the Dean of the Law Faculty. Unlike traditional academic presentations, their approach emphasized real-world applications and contemporary challenges.

Modern Perspectives on Family Protection Law

During the symposium, Master Vu Anh Sao shared practical insights about family protection legislation in modern society. He highlighted how various forms of violence now manifest in subtle and harder-to-recognize patterns. The discussion provided foundational legal knowledge while stimulating critical thinking and humanitarian perspectives among young people regarding sensitive social issues.

The symposium aimed to inspire reflective and compassionate thinking from youth when confronting complex societal challenges.

Comprehensive Analysis of 2022 Legal Framework

Following the opening discussion, Master Nam Trung introduced and analyzed key provisions of the 2022 Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence. Specifically, he detailed the classification of 13 domestic violence behaviors across four main categories:

  • Physical violence
  • Psychological violence
  • Economic violence
  • Sexual violence

For each category, he presented specific scenarios helping students visualize situations and develop proper recognition and response skills. Consequently, students gained not only legal understanding but also protective capabilities for themselves and others.

Innovative Competition Format Brings Law to Life

As part of the Vietnam Family Day celebration activities, the domestic violence prevention law competition featured an exceptionally creative format. Rather than traditional multiple-choice theoretical questions, the contest required teams to roleplay realistic scenarios commonly occurring in family life, then address them using legal knowledge combined with soft skills and humanitarian messaging.

Real-World Scenarios Challenge Student Teams

Teams tackled diverse themes including conflict resolution between parents and children, household spending control, psychological violence in marriage, and academic pressure from parents. Each team presented authentic, relatable stories rich in educational value through short plays, live scenes, and situational videos that skillfully integrated content from the 2022 Domestic Violence Prevention Law.

Students received enthusiastic audience support and high praise from the judging panel of specialized faculty members. On the flip side, this innovative approach to legal education demonstrated how complex legislation could become accessible and memorable for young learners.

Sustainable Partnership Builds Future Citizens

This meaningful series of activities celebrating Vietnam Family Day successfully helped students approach law in a friendly, vibrant, and memorable manner. Additionally, the initiative exemplifies UEF’s sustained partnership with high schools in life skills education, legal awareness enhancement, and character development from an early age.

Throughout the comprehensive development journey for young citizens, UEF continues creating numerous academic platforms, experiential opportunities, and practical connections. These efforts contribute to nurturing humanitarian spirit, responsibility, and proactive change toward a better society, as supported by research from the UNICEF Violence Prevention Initiative.

Building Tomorrow’s Legal-Conscious Generation

This innovative competition format demonstrates how educational institutions can transform traditional legal instruction into engaging, practical learning experiences. By addressing real family dynamics and contemporary social challenges, students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for modern citizenship. The partnership between UEF and Ten Lo Man High School sets a compelling precedent for future collaborations that bridge academic expertise with youth education, ultimately fostering a generation equipped to recognize, prevent, and address domestic violence while building stronger, more compassionate communities.
