PUTRAJAYA, July 1, 2025 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the nation’s cybersecurity field after being announced as one of the key universities to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA). This historic agreement was formalized during the opening ceremony of the Cyber Defence & Security Exhibition and Conference (CYDES) 2025 held here today.
The MoU, spearheaded by UiTM’s Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FSKM), was witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister I, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Meanwhile, this milestone reflects UiTM’s strategic position and high commitment to strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity ecosystem through active engagement in research, talent development, and cutting-edge technology.

“Cyber threats are now increasingly sophisticated, and digital preparedness along with responsible digital behavior is no longer an option – it is our first line of defense,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister in his speech. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity for cybersecurity policies and frameworks that continuously evolve alongside emerging technologies such as AI and IoT.

“UiTM’s collaboration with NACSA is a key catalyst in strengthening Malaysia’s cybersecurity landscape. UiTM possesses extensive expertise in information technology, cyber engineering, and digital forensics – and with NACSA’s support, we are ready to expand our impact to the nation,” he stated.
